Use a Chillum

  1. Place your herb grindings in a small pile on a clean flat surface.
  2. Take the chillum in one hand with the bowl pointing down and the mouthpiece up.
  3. Push down the chillum into the pile of herbs, so the bowl is pressing into the grindings.
  4. Lift up the chillum and quickly hold the grindings inside the bowl with your finger.
  5. Turn the chillum into a horizontal position and pack the herb firmly into bowl.
  6. If you plan on using the chillum later, place the chillum in a small plastic bag. You can then keep the chillum in your pocket, purse, bag, etc, until you are ready to use.
  7. Put your mouth on the mouthpiece and ignite the bowl with a flame.
  8. Inhale slowly until the herb is burnt up. Most chillums are made to hold enough herb for just one inhale only. Bigger chillums may have enough for two inhales.
  9. Exhale slowly and calmly. Check your bowl to make sure your herb is not still burning.
  10. Clean out your bowl by blowing into the mouthpiece. The burnt herbs will shoot out, so be careful to aim it into the trash or at the ground.
